Woods Has Worst Tournament in Professional Career:

Tiger Woods is chasing Jack Nicklaus' majors record. He has 14 major championships. Many think he will eventually catch Nicklaus, not after this past weekend. Woods shot a 18-over par at the Bridgestone Invitational. He finished in a tie for 78 place, out of 80 players. That's not a mis-print. He shot a 77 on Sunday. The more stunning revelation is that he dominates at Firestone Country Club. He's won the championship seven times and never finished worse than fifth in 11 appearances at the tournament.

The tournament was the first time Woods shot over par in all four rounds since the 2003 PGA Championship. Many wonder if Woods finally let his personal problems stemming from last November's revelations finally affect his golf game. Woods might have to learn how to play golf well again. He went on a bit of a dry spell, after winning the 1997 Masters, he didn't win a major until the 1999 PGA Championship. It shows that Woods can come back and be dominate in golf. This year, Woods' play has humanized him. Fans are starting to pick the field over Woods, something unheard of a couple of years ago.

Woods may not make the Ryder Cup team. He's not in the top eight players that automatically qualify for the team. Woods better get his game together soon. The 2010 PGA Championship starts on Thursday at Whistling Straits. Woods finished his round by 11 a.m. and flew to Milwaukee right after the tournament. Woods has shown this season that he's not at the top of his game. If he continues to play poorly, he may lose the number one ranking. He better get his game figured out, because the game of golf still rides with his decisions to play or skip tournaments.
