SEC Is Top Conference in Collegiate Football

It’s nearing November. That means conference games will
begin soon. It means teams are preparing for the best of the best. It’s a
chance at a do over, right the ship to earn a conference championship or win
six games to be bowl eligible. The Southeastern Conference is the toughest
to win in all of college football. Their conference has won the last four
BCS National championships. Since 2006, the conference has played 38
contests where both teams have been ranked. It’s way above the other major
conferences.
In the SEC, it usually means preparing to win their division, meet in the
SEC Championship game. The winner of that game usually gets a spot in the
BCS National Championship game. It all starts this weekend. Arkansas and
Georgia began their conference schedules last week, with the Razorbacks
downing the Bulldogs. This week, number 10 Arkansas hosts the number one
ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.
There are four contests between SEC opponents. The Crimson Tide are facing a
solid Razorback team led by Heisman front runner Ryan Mallett. Mallett’s job
should be easier because the game is in Razorback Stadium. IN the other
battle of ranked SEC teams, number 12 ranked South Carolina travels to
Jordan-Hare Stadium to take on number 17 ranked Auburn. It’s going to be a
tried and true, defensive struggle. Head coach Steve Spurrier’s offense is
going up against a solid Auburn defense.
Getting to the BCS National Championship game is very difficult. Only one
undefeated SEC team made it that far and won the trophy. Alabama plays
Florida after their game against Arkansas. It’s going to be one of the most
anticipated games all season. It’s going to showcase the two best teams. The
SEC teams are better than other conferences, they’ll continue to prove it
during bowl season, but they have to navigate a tough conference schedule
first.
