Rays Sweep Shows Why They're the Best Team in MLB:

It looks like a major gap between the Tampa Rays and the
rest of Major League Baseball. It was only a two game series, but the
contrast between the two teams showed wit the Rays winning both games. The
Yankees seem to be getting older and can't find players to fill in for Nick
Johnson, Jorge Posada and Alfredo Aceves. In the first game, the Rays
battered A.J. Burnett, tagging him for six runs and nine hits in 6.2
innings. Boone Logan and Mark Melancon each gave up two runs in relief. It
shows how they miss relief pitchers that can get hitters out. Jason
Bartlett, John Jaso and Evan Longoria each had two RBIs.
Wade Davis only gave up two runs to pick up the win. The worrisome for the
Rays comes in the fact that Andy Sonnanstine gave up four runs in a relief
appearance. In the second game, the Rays scored six earned runs against Andy
Pettitte. That's a feat, given Pettitte's success so far this season. Ben
Zobrist leads the Rays with three RBIS. Gabe Kapler, Carlos Pena and Carl
Crawford each have two RBIs. James Shields The production shows that the
Rays have a complete lineup and don't have to rely on one guy every night.
The Rays are also exercising demons by winning games at Yankee Stadium.
Their track record is pretty poor.
The Rays just showcased how there is a gap between them and the rest of
Major League Baseball. It would be great to see if the Rays get back to the
World Series to play the Philadelphia Phillies. There's a great chance, as
long as Roy Halladay doesn't pitch three games, that the Rays could win
their first title. The two game series gives the Rays a five game division
lead nad it might expand or be reduced, but to get off to a great start
should help with the Rays get back to the World Series.
