Players Posturing Before Draft:

The exodus begins. Many of the top collegiate talent will
leave their universities and declare for the NBA Draft. Many of the
underclassmen that decide to declare for the draft usually don’t hire an
agent. When a collegiate athlete hires an agent, he or she gives up the
amateur status. It’s just the start of posturing before the draft in June.
Jimmer Fredette, the former BYU guard, has the potential to be a solid NBA
shooter, but he’s not going to be a complete player.
He doesn’t play defense and took 40 percent of the shots in their NCAA
Tournament loss. Derrick Williams, the Arizona forward, drastically improved
his stock during the tournament. He played tremendously against Texas and
Duke before losing to UConn in the Elite 8. Experts rank Kyrie Irving as the
number one player in the the draft. It’s an incredible feat for someone that
played eight regular season games but put on a show in the tournament.
Brandon Knight of Kentucky is another highly-ranked guard. Knight comes from
the same coach that produced Derrick Rose and John Wall. Knight knows how to
run the point and will help an NBA team looking for a promising point guard.
It’s just posturing right now. It doesn’t seem like there’s an impact player
like Rose or Blake Griffin in this year’s draft. It’s pretty open but teams
that draft high, usually need an impact player.
