Draft Winners & Losers:

The Seattle Seahawks seem to come out of last weekend's draft as a winner. It's primarily from their draft class but it can also involves adding Leon Washington and LenDale White to their backfield. The Oakland Raiders added Jason Campbell as competition with JaMarcus Russell for the starting quarterback position in Oakland. Many other players moved during the draft. One other reaction by teams would be to see which players are released, starting with New England Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas. It's already gaining traction that Thomas will reunite with his former defensive coordinator in Rex Ryan and the New York Jets.

If the Jets add Thomas, they'll be the favorite not only in the AFC East, but a contender to win the Super Bowl. Thomas was roller-coaster experience in New England, starting out as a humble, but eventually a rift happened over Thomas' role as a pure pass rusher or an every down linebacker. It's believed that the Patriots attempted to trade Thomas during the draft, Another stalwart defensive player that will get released this week would be John Henderson from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Henderson once went to a Pro Bowl for the Jaguars. He will be a quality addition to any team looking for a solid veteran defensive tackle for a 4-3 scheme. The New York Giants are a team that's expressed interest in Henderson.

The Buffalo Bills might be shopping oft-troubled running back Marshawn Lynch after drafting C.J. Spiller number nine overall. General Manager Buddy Nix won't admit they're shopping Lynch, but there's some buzz surrounding the asking price being too high for the former Cal back. There's rumblings that he could reunite with former Cal teammate Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Lynch hasn't shown up to any of the off season work outs and there's other reports that he doesn't want to play in Buffalo anymore.

There will probably be more releasing of players before the start of training camp as coaches and general managers make final adjustments to their rosters before convening for training camp in August. It will be interesting to see if Campbell can rejuvenate his career in Oakland. Will Lynch go some where and will Thomas join a revamped Jets defense that includes Jason Taylor, Antonio Cromartie and first round pick Kyle Wilson. They're going to be a team to watch early in the season. If they stay healthy, look out!
