As Anthony Turns, Nets Reenter Trade Talks for Nuggets Forward:

It looks like the Carmelo Anthony drama will continue until
the trade deadline on February 24. It’s long been known that Anthony wants
to get traded to the New York Knicks. He wants to play with Amare Stoudemire
at Madison Square Garden 41 games per year and help the team return to
glory. The Denver Nuggets, Anthony’s current team wants Danilo Galinari,
Raymond Felton, and a few other players, including Eddie Curry, Wilson
Chandler and Landry Fields, along with a first round pick.
Is it worth it? That’s the question. Anthony is worth it and the Knicks
should make the move to get Anthony. He’s a great scorer that only comes
along every couple of years. He brings a tremendous scoring and fans in the
stands because of his marquee stature. Anthony only wants to sign an
extension with the Knicks. It’s possible that he returns to Denver, but
there’s a ton of uncertainty with the new collective bargaining agreement
expected this summer.
Recent reports indicate that the New Jersey Nets have reentered trade talks
with the Nuggets for Anthony. The Nets ended talks a month ago because
Anthony wouldn’t sign an extension with the Nets. They were going to acquire
Anthony, Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton from the Detroit Pistons.
Anthony will end up with the Knicks. He’s not going to sign an extension and
stay in Denver. He might have to take less money this offseason because of
the uncertainty of the CBA and the owners wanting less money going to the
players.
