NBA Playoff Breakdown:

Author: Michael Licata

LeBron James is the best player in the NBA. The argument rages whether Kobe Bryant is better for no other reason than Kobe's got four rings and James has none. It's only a matter of time before James earns his first ring. It looks like after the 2010 NBA Playoffs, he just might celebrate his first ring. It seems like he took Chicago's game four win personally, came out and recorded a triple double in game five, setting up a game clinching game six in Cleveland on Tuesday. James nullified Joakim Noah's 21 points and 20 rebounds for the Bulls. James scored 37 points, pulled down 12 boards and had 11 assists, including two buzzer beaters at the end of quarters. One of those was from just over the half court stripe. James took the loss to Orlando in the Eastern Conference Finals last season personally. The Cavs added Shaq before the season and added Antawn Jamison around the trade deadline, solidifying the team around James.

He should at least get to the NBA Finals with this team. Which team they play is still uncertain. The Los Angeles Lakers seemed on a fast track towards the second round, but the young Oklahoma City Thunder are going to make the Lakers earn that trip after two consecutive wins in Oklahoma City. Expect the Lakers to bounce back for game five in Staples Center, but this series still has the makings of going to seven games if the crowd gets behind Kevin Durant and the Thunder at home.

San Antonio seems prepared to make one more title run with Tim Duncan, but they have a tough first round contest with Dallas, even though the Spurs took an early 2-1 series lead. Popovich and co seem to be prepped for one last deep playoff run with Duncan and Tony Parker. It looks like the Utah Jazz could also be a team that competes for the Western Conference crown. They're a game up against the Denver Nuggets and are playing extremely well. It seems they're applying what they've learned the past few playoffs in order to knock off the Denver Nuggets.

It should be a great rest of the playoffs in both conferences. There's still very much uncertainty in which team comes out of the Western Conference. Expect Duncan and Parker and the rest of the Spurs to figure out a way get to the NBA Finals. The James gang will be there to meet them. Don't expect a sweep like the last time these two teams met in the Finals. James has become a more complete player and the Spurs don't have defensive stud Bruce Bowen any more.
