McNabb Returns to Old Stomping Ground

Sunday’s game between the Washington Redskins and
Philadelphia Eagles has a lot of story lines. It’s a division game and
Donovan McNabb returns to the place where he played for 11 seasons. He’s the
most successful quarterback in Eagles franchise history, taking the team to
four NFC championship games and one Super Bowl. He’s often seen as the major
reason the Eagles didn’t win four of the NFC championship games and the
Super Bowl.
McNabb was always good at not allowing what the media or fans would say
about him affect his play on the field. It’s something he’s passed on to
Kevin Kolb. McNabb always put his team into position to win the game. There
will always be a debate whether Reid or McNabb was the biggest reason why
the Eagles had so much success during their tenure together. It was also a
rocky relationship at times. Reid would often go with the best option at QB
and that wasn’t always McNabb.
Head coach Andy Reid was the coach for all of McNabb’s seasons in
Philadelphia. He took a lot of heat for trading McNabb within the division.
The thought that McNabb isn’t as good enough to get in the way of the Eagles
making the playoffs. Sunday’s game will provide a peak into the future for
both the Eagles and McNabb. Philadelphia boasts a better team, but McNabb
knows the Eagles offense enough to provide quality insight for Sunday’s
matchup. The Redskins could pull out the upset over a Michael Vick-led
Eagles squad.
