Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Is Waiting on Whether Mayweathers Decision:

Last Friday, an imposed deadline from Bob Arum passed
without much fanfare or notice. No deal was done between Manny Pacquiao and
Floyd Mayweather Jr. was agreed to. Arum stated that Friday, July 16 was a
date to set up a Super Fight in November. Mayweather came out a day later
stating he's not in any rush into fight with Pacquiao. Arum already stated
that Pacquiao will fight on November 13, no matter the opponent. It should
be Pacquiao versus Mayweather. The fight would resuscitate the entire sport
of boxing.
It would easily be the most profitable event on boxing's history. Pacquiao
has already agreed to the stringent drug testing policy and the split of the
profits from the gate. Putting a fight together is very hard, finding the
right opponent and venue can take a long time. These two have been trying to
get a fight together for over a year. It isn't this hard. Mayweather's
holding the ultimate decision. He's undefeated and doesn' want to tarnish
that record. He fears Paquiao. It has to be that or some combination of fear
and his uncle facing assault charges in Las Vegas stemming from an incident
with a female boxer.
Pacquiao will take on all that want to step into the ring with him. He could
face a rematch with Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito. It would be more
interesting to see him face Margarito if the Mayweather fight falls through.
The fight should happen. All the all greats from the various eras have faced
off. It would be a shame if Mayweather against Pacquiao. Dallas Stadium
would be the perfect venue. The attendance record would smash the record set
when Pacquiao downed Ricky Hatton at the venue. It should be taken out of
Vegas because the temptations won't be in Dallas like they are in Sin City.
All boxing fans deserve to see Mayweather versus Pacquiao. If Mayweather's
too afraid to tarnish his perfect record, then he should come out and say
so, but we all know that won't happen. Please, to revive a once great
tradition and established a new era of boxing, get an agreement in place for
a Fight on November 13.
