Luck Makes Valiant Return to Stanford:

You have to respect the decision to finish school and graduate with the players you came in with during the recruiting period. Money really isn’t everything to some people. Carolina Panther’s fans have to suffer through another season of Jimmy Clausen as their starter after Andrew Luck decided to return to Stanford next season. Cam Newton, Ryan Mallett, Blain Gabbert and Jack Locker’s stock all improved with Luck’s decision. It’s admirable that he would forgo the money with being the number one overall pick.

Luck will be the number one pick in the 2012 draft. There’s no question, unless something catastrophic happens. He’s surrendering money because the NFL is going to institute a rookie salary cap. NFL veterans are tired of number one draft picks getting more money that guys that have toiled in the league for years. It’s one of the few things both sides agree upon right now. Locker’s stock plummeted this season because of poor play and bad decisions throwing the football. Luck isn’t going to have that problem.

Sam Bradford decided to return to Oklahoma for his senior season. It didn’t work out too well. He suffered an injured shoulder just two games into the season. It didn’t hurt his draft stock any, the St. Louis Rams took him number one overall and almost won the division this past season. Luck isn’t going to have head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh is the most sought after coaching candidate since Nick Saban. Lo and behold, the Miami Dolphins are going to over pay for Harbaugh. I guess they didn’t learn from the Saban era. Luck did the right thing and returned to school. It’s honorable to graduate and finish college, especially if you’re a star athlete that can make a difference.
