James Leaning Towards Miami:

Every sports fan will be in front of their television sets
tonight at 9 p.m. when King James makes his announcement live on ESPN. His
people approached the network about doing a one hour special with all the
proceeds going to various charities. It's a boon for ESPN, they jumped at
the opportunity to show off their ability to produce an event quickly along
with the spotlight being squarely on James. Jim Grey will moderate the
event. It's expected that James will make his announcement within the first
ten minutes of the broadcast.
There are rumors now that James is leaning towards joining Dwyane Wade and
Chris Bosh in Miami. Each player would have to take a pay cut to get under
the necessary salary cap, but could you imagine that lineup? They could put
guys off the street at the point and center and still win 60 games next
year. James, Bosh and Wade met before the free agency period started. They
love playing together, it was proven when they won the gold medal at the
2008 Beijing Olympics.
The rest of the Eastern Conference would be in a lot of trouble. They could
possibly break the Chicago Bulls record of 72 wins a season. One player
could take a day off, and they could still win games. Mario Chalmers,
Michael Beasley and other Heat players could learn how to win with those
three. It should be interesting to see if Pat Riley would return to coaching
if all three signed with his Heat. Erik Spoelstra has done a good job with
the talent on the roster. Does he have what it takes to coral all three
players, providing the right mix around these three players. It should be
interesting. Cleveland, New York and Chicago are still in play and James has
a lot of people in his ear about where to play next season. It's not a
guarantee if he signed with Miami, but it would be the fastest way to a
championship
