Texans Make Statement Against Colts:

The Indianapolis Colts are looking to end the trend of the
Super Bowl loser from the previous year missing the playoffs the next year.
It shouldn’t be hard for the Colts. They’re built to make it to the Super
Bowl every year. They’re lead by the best quarterback in Peyton Manning. He
seems to always replenish his wide receiving corps each season.
They may have finally found competition within their division. The Houston
Texans defeated the Colts, 34-24 on opening weekend. It was mostly due to
Arian Foster’s 231 rushing yards with three touchdowns. It also didn’t help
the Colts that they only ran the ball 10 times all game.
It’s hard in the NFL to win games being so one dimensional. Manning had to
throw the ball 57 times. It’s not college, the defensive coaches want to
make the opposing offense one dimension, makes the game planning easier.
Texans QB Matt Schaub only threw for 107 yards on the day.
It’s a change of pace for the Texans. It’s their second win over the Colts
ever. Foster gives them a great rushing option.Steve Slaton had a great
rookie campaign, but now he’s going to be a third down back for the Texans.
They’re a better team that can now ride Foster into the playoffs.
The Colts are still one of the best teams in the league. The fans won’t have
to debate whether to sit or play starters to preserve a perfect season.
There are some possibilities of a perfect season, but the chances are slim.
It was a great statement game for the Texans. It might be the end of king of
the AFC South for the Colts this season.
