A few games and the Miami Heat have righted their ship. The
team dominated the Memphis Grizzlies, 118-85 on Saturday night. It comes
after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers this past Thursday. Miami’s next
matchup provides a great litmus test, hosting the San Antonio Spurs, the
NBA’s top team. They look rebounded from their five game losing streak,
which was highlighted by head coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters players
were crying after a loss.
The Heat still haven’t proved they can win games at the buzzer. They’ll
continue to dominate lesser teams. Miami is now two and a half games behind
the Boston Celtics for the Eastern Conference’s top spot. It’s possible if
the Celtics stubble during a stretch. Home court advantage benefits each
team that earns it.
Dwayne Wade played great against the Grizzlies, 28 points, nine assists,
five blocks and five rebounds. Newest addition Mike Bibby added 17 points,
going five-for-five from three point range. Wade must take control of the
team in the clutch. He won a championship with the Heat a few years ago.
Chris Bosh and LeBron James decided to join Wade in Miami, meaning it was
his team first. Miami can catch the Celtics, but they’ll have to continue to
beat the top NBA teams, or there will be doubts.
