Griffin Provides Bright Future for Clippers:

Blake Griffin is scary. He helped the Los Angeles Clippers
defeat their in-house rival Los Angeles Lakers, 99-92 on Sunday. He followed
it up on Monday with his highest scoring output against the Indianapolis
Pacers. Griffin scored 47 points in a 114-107 victory. It was the highest
point total in the NBA so far this season. Baron Davis and the rest of the
Clippers are playing better because Griffin is learning to make his
teammates better. Griffin has 33 double-doubles this season. It hasn’t
helped to often in the win-loss column. The Clips stand at 15-25.
The win over the Pacers gives LA their first five game home winning streak
since 2006. Griffin makes the Clippers fun to watch. His dunks are
consistently highlight reel. He showed on Monday that he can add shooting to
his game. It makes him more dangerous and the Clippers a better team. The
Clippers are still second fiddle in LA to the Lakers, but Griffin has the
team headed into the right direction. Davis needs to play better and earn
the contract he signed with LA.
John Wall and Griffin will continue to put up stats for NBA Rookie of the
Year. Both guys have made instant impacts on their respective clubs but
Griffin has a bigger job to do than Wall. The Clippers aren’t a top NBA team
yet. Eric Gordon and Griffin provide a solid foundation for the future.
They’ve had two solid victories against solid competition, including a win
over the Lakers. It’s a great start for a long-tortured franchise.
