Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeated Shane Mosley in a unanimous
decision on Saturday night. It was a quality fight for Mayweather. He
dominated after stumbing in the early rounds. Mayweather proved once again
that he's one of the great fighters of this period. Mayweather continues to
dominate his opponents, amassing an undefeated record. He used to be the
pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. It's not Mosley that boxing fans
want to see in the ring against Mayweather.
A Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao. The fight would resurrect the sport of
boxing. Pacquiao holds the unofficial title of best pound-for-pound fighter
on the planet, but Mayweather would love to prove that to be false. There
was almost a fight this May, but it fell apart over the desire to have
Olympic style drug testing. Some in Mayweather's camp believe that Pacquiao
takes some form of performance enhancing drug. Pacquiao even suied those in
Mayweather's camp that made those statements, claiming that they're just
attempting to tarnish Pacquiao's reputation.
The entire boxing world awaits whether these two great fighters will step
into the ring. Mayweather wants to prove he's still the best fighter, while
Pacquiao wants to beat Mayweather for those PED claims. The sport of boxing
will be a lot better off if these to step into the ring. The payday would be
great for both men. It would showcase boxing as an entertaining sports
experience to the casual fan. Please, It would be a great fight to watch, so
we'll have to wait and see if drug testing policies can be agreed upon and
then maybe we can see the fight of the decade.
