Fisher Done as Titans Head Coach:

Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams has made a lot of poor decisions over the
years. He’s interfered with his head coach and the toxic relationship
between the coach and quarterback. He was fined for making obscene gestures
during a Titans road game in Buffalo a couple of years ago. His latest
decision might be the worst one of all. After 16 seasons as head coach,
Adams fired Jeff Fisher. Fisher had one more year remaining on his contract.
Fisher never did win the Super Bowl as the head coach of the Titans. He did
provide great stability and support at the most important position on a
team. The head coach is the leader and provides his players with everything
necessary to win on Sundays. It’s been a sloppy ending to a great career.
Fisher couldn’t get along with starting quarterback Vince Young. The team
decided that Young would be the one jettisoned during the offseason. Well,
it’s unsure when that will happen with the collective bargaining agreement
set to expire on March 3.
The Titans have to scramble to put a staff in place. Gregg Williams is hte
name that stands out as a possible replacement. Williams almost came back as
defensive coordinator after the 2008 season. He went onto the New Orleans
Saints and won a Super Bowl Championship. Williams has prior head coaching
experience, posting a 17-31 record as head coach of the Buffalo Bills. There
has already been a report that Young will be moved even if the new coach
gets along with Young. There’s little hope for Titans fans if they have to
start next season with a new head coach and new starting quarterback.
