Final Four Set:

The Final Four is set with the most unlikely national semi-final ever. The Virginia Commonwealth Rams and Butler Bulldogs will face off for a shot at the NCAA championship in Houston next weekend. In the other semi-final, the UConn Huskies and the Kentucky Wildcats will face off. It’s going to be a great game featuring the hottest team in UConn against John Calipari’s young, athletic team. According to ESPN, 5.9 million brackets were filed and only two entire brackets had both Butler and VCU in the Final Four.

VCU stunned Kansas on Sunday, holding a 41-27 lead after the first half. It was closer in the second half, finishing at 71-61. VCU didn’t even watch the selection show a couple two Sunday’s ago, instead they went for hamburgers and watched the Cartoon Network. The selection committee selected the Rams as one of the last four teams in the NCAA tournament. Jamie Skeen led the Rams with 26 points. VCU becomes the third 11th seeded team to make the tournament after George Mason in 2006 and LSU in 1986.

Butler is now the favorite to make it to consecutive championships, they will also wear home white in the Final Four. Kentucky did a great job over a solid North Carolina team. Brandon Knight is emerging as a tournament superstar, scoring 22 points in the win over the Tar Heels. It will be Kentucky’s first Final Four since winning the national championship in 1998. Kentucky exacted revenge after losing to UNC this past December. VCU is the best surprise and Butler cannot be considered a complete surprise anymore. Houston is holding the most unlikely Final Four ever and it’s going to produce some of the greatest games in recent years. Still go with the hottest team in UConn and Butler, because they’re experienced, to meet in the National Championship game.
