Everything is Bigger In Texas

The Battle of Texas, another chapter will be written on Sunday as the Houston Texans host the Dallas Cowboys. Reliant Stadium will be rocking as the Texans are looking to start the season 3-0. On the other side, the Cowboys are looking to avoid a 0-3 start to the season. It’s very surreal for Cowboys fans. Texans fans are in complete ecstasy. They defeated division rival Indianapolis Colts in week one and downed the Washington Redskins in week two.

Everybody’s accountable for the current Cowboy’s predicament. They haven’t ran the ball well. Jason Garrett gave away a win against theRedskins on week one when they ran a play instead of kneeling down to end a half. Alex Barron was called for holding on the potential winning touchdown in the same game. There’s a lot of blame to go around.

It’s for more than bragging rights. The defensive secondaries are going to get the bulk of the work. The Texans have Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson. It’s one of the most feared quarterback-wide receiver tandems in the NFL. They even found a solid running back option in Arian Foster, who gashed the Colts for 231 yards and three touchdowns. He immediately became a fantasy darling. The next week, the Texans turned into the great throwing team and Johnson and Schaub put up huge numbers.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Mario Williams, DeMeco Ryans and the rest of the Texans defense handles the Cowboys. Tony Romo is a great throwing quarterback. Houston has given up a lot of yards through the air. Expect much of the same. Williams will have to generate a pass rush to force bad throws by Romo. It’s what’s going to win the game for Houston. Romo has more weapons at his disposal than Schaub. It’s going to be a great showdown for bragging rights in the state of Texas.
