Elite QB Is the Reason For Winning

What makes an NFL team great? Is it a smart head coach that
prepares his team for every potential situation on Sunday? Is it the general
manager or personnel guy that drafts each year? Or is it the defense that
stops even the best teams in the NFL? Many would agree that the biggest
reason that makes NFL teams so successful also happens to be the most
important position on the field, a great quarterback. Teams that win Super
Bowls do so because their QB is always among the best in the league.
Last season, Drew Brees put himself on the top of the list as one of the
best QBs in the NFL by winning the Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints.
The same teams are always among the top in each division. Peyton Manning is
the smartest football player. He always knows what to do with the football
when he drops back to pass. It doesn’t matter which receiver to which he
throws the ball. He’s also his own offensive coordinator, choosing plays and
dictating the play of the defense.
The New England Patriots won three Super Bowls because Tom Brady is their
QB. He dissects defenses and is able to carve up defenses. Yes, the New York
Giants put together a great defensive scheme that put a lot of pressure on
Brady. It’s the only way to defeat Brady, but being in his face on every
down.
Two QBs that are learning how to guide their team to victories are expected
to lead their team to greener pastures. Aaron Rodgers has always put up
great stats with the Green Bay Packers. He’s now has a solid defense and the
Packers are expected to play in the Super Bowl this year. He’s going to be
the one to lead them into the promise land. Mark Sanchez has made great
strides these last two weeks. They’ve won two division games, downing the
Patriots and Miami Dolphins. He didn’t put up stellar numbers. The New York
Jets defense is stellar and helps Sanchez a lot. They also lost a close game
in week one. Sanchez is learning how to win football games in his second
year. It also helps to have two solid receiving options in Dustin Kellar and
Braylon Edwards. Sanchez will be the player that leads the Jets into the
playoffs and a division title.
The teams that are struggling don’t have a solid option at QB. The bottom
feeders of the league haven’t had a solid QB. This draft, it could change
with three potential QBs being drafted in the top 10. Ryan Mallett, Jake
Locker and Andrew Luck could be the next great QB crop making an impact for
a poor franchise without an elite QB.
