Cowboys Hope To Have First Home Game in Super Bowl:

It's something that hasn't happened yet. The host franchise
playing in the big game. This year, it could all change. Owner Jerry Jones,
quarterback Tony Romo and many other Dallas Cowboys expect to play in the
Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in February. It's not out of the realm of
possibilities. The Cowboys have a great offense and added to it with the
selection of Dez Bryant in the first round. Bryant went down with an ankle
injury in training camp.
Romo still has Miles Austin, along with Roy E. Williams to throw the ball
to, along with Felix Jones and Marion Barber to carry the rock when
necessary. Jason Whitten quickly became Romo's favorite target. The wide
receivers might make the highlight reel catches and celebrations, but a
quality tight end is a QB's best friend. Barber, Jones and Tashard Choice
make up one of the best running back corps in the entire NFL. Expect one of
them to have a break out season on the stat sheet. Bryant should also have a
very productive season. Many expect him to be named the NFL Offensive Rookie
of the Year, which is likely because the team is so good and he learned a
lot by being around Romo.
It's said the game is won in the trenches. One of the keys is replacing
Flozell Adams at left tackle. Doug Free is currently listed as the starting
LT, but he's being pushed by Alex Barron. It's important because LT is
becoming a glamour position, protecting Romo's blindside. Which ever player
gets the job, it should help one of the best o-line's in the league. It's
said that defense wins championships and the Cowboys defense could only get
better.
Jay Ratliff anchors the middle of the Cowboy's defense. The nose tackle is
somewhat undersized for the position, but he continues to get better. He
clogs the holes for Keith Brooking and Bradie James in the middle of the
field. Marcus Spears was injured in practice and will miss most of the
pre-season and possibly some of the regular season. Terrence Newman helps
anchor a solid secondary. The Cowboys could contend for a NFC title, but the
New Orleans Saints will be the best team until some one beats them. Could it
be the Cowboys? No team has every played a home game at the Super Bowl. It's
going to take some luck along with a great football team to be the first,
but don't expect the Cowboys to be that team.
