Celtics and Lakers Meet in Epic Finals Clash:

NBA fans received a great present this post season. The two
most storied franchises in league history will meet to decide which team
will be called NBA Champion. From the West comes Kobe Bryant and the Los
Angeles Lakers and from the East, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and the Boston
Celtics. It's a dream match up. Boston has won 17 NBA Titles while the
Lakers aren't far behind with 15 championships.
The Lakers are the defending champs, but they're still haunted by the 2008
NBA Finals against the Celtics. It's the Lakers chance at redemption. It's
the Celtics chance to add an 18 title during a season where few expected
them to get this far. They earned the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
They defeated the top two seeds in the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic
to get this far. Rajon Rando should be named the post season MVP for the
Celtics. He was the weakest link in 2008 and now he's blossoming through
hard work and great teammates around him. Lakers point guard Derek Fisher is
going to have his hands full with Rondo.
Kobe Bryant against Ray Allen should be another headlining match up during
this series. James Posey isn't around to provide a great spark off the bench
and watch Kobe on the defensive end. Pierce leads the Celtics in scoring
during the playoffs, average 18.3 points per game. Rondo leads the team in
assists. Bryant leads the way for Los Angeles, 27 PPG. The front line battle
should be great too. Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and Ron Artest should have
their hands full with Garnett, Kendrick Perkins and Pierce.
Most experts think the series will last at least six games. It should go to
game seven with the benches being the difference in outcome of a few games.
Bryant and company should pull it out though, in a hard fought seven game
series. It starts Thursday night in Los Angeles.
