Anthony To Knicks a Distinct Possiblity:

Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets are looking at a
separation of ways. The question now is when instead of if Anthony leaves
the Nuggets. Anthony has a $65 million 3 year contract extension sitting on
the table. He has yet to sign it and the Nuggets hope he will sign the deal
soon. Denver's saying that the deal will change and Anthony won't get such a
lucrative offer once the new collective bargaining agreement gets
negotiated. His best option is to sign the extension and convince the
Nuggets to trade Anthony.
Anthony is keeping his decision close, saying very little during his
basketball camp in Colorado. The most logical move would be towards a sign
and trade with the New York Knicks. He would be paired with Amare Stoudemire
to make the Knicks a very good team. The rumors and desires started with
Anthony's nuptials to La La Vasquez in New York. New Orleans Hornets guard
Chris Paul, along with Anthony's brother toasted Anthony to the idea of
coming to play for the Knicks. It was even rumored that Paul would join the
Knicks as early as this season, but after a meeting with the Hornet's brass,
Paul is less likely to move before free agency.
Melo will be in a new uniform next season. It would be interesting to see if
he gets his way and suits up for the Knicks. It would immediately make the
team only better. He led the Nuggets to the Western Conference Finals in
2009. It should be interesting to see how he plays in an inferior league.
There are the Boston Celtics, Miami Head and Orlando Magic, after that, the
rest of the league is up for grabs. The Knicks will be a better team next
season and the excitement of adding Anthony would only get the fan base more
in a frenzy. Make the deal happen, because the NBA needs the Knicks to be
relevant again. Anthony should sign the extension and force a trade too.
There's too much uncertainty surrounding the new CBA in the NBA for ANthony
to leave that much money sitting on the table.
