Buckeyes Poised As Early Tournament Favorites:

The Ohio State Buckeyes are the best team in college
basketball. They've started the season 23-0. It's hard to predict a winner
in the NCAA tournament but OSU will be considered a favorite because of
their regular season success. The tournament is hard to pick because there
are so many well coached teams. It usually rewards experienced teams that
have played together for at least two seasons. The exception being John
Calipari's recent squads.
Thad Matta has a great history of coaching basketball big men. Jared
Sullinger will join the ranks of Greg Oden as solid big men playing for
Matta at Ohio State. Teams just don't need an interior presence. A solid
shooting wing alleviates the pressure, stretching defenses. Buckeye guard
William Buford added 13 points, including two key three pointers to help
stretch the lead against Michigan.
Great teams manage to make it deep in the tournament. Rarely will one player
teams make it far in March Madness. The Buckeyes have shown their might
against tough Big Ten opponents. They'll need to prove just a bit more if
they hope to hold off the tiny Atlantic 10 or any other mid-major school
hoping to make an impact in the tournament. It's early, but OSU is a solid
pick as tournament champions.
