Brazil's Upset Opens Door for Argentina to Win World Cup:

Wesley Sneijder's header in the 68th minute provided all
the Dutch would need in their upset of FIFA number one team Brazil. The
Brazilians played a man down for some of the second half after a red card
was issued to Felipe Melo for stomping on a players leg. The trend of FIFA's
number one ranked team failing to win the World Cup. It was a game of
firsts, the first time that Brazil lost after scoring the first goal, the
first time that Robinho scored and Brazil lost and the first time Robinho
and Kaka played together and Brazil lost.
The Brazilian loss paves the way for Argentina to win the World Cup. The
Argentines don't have an easy path against Germany, but if they can down the
Germans, expect them to ride Lionel Messi and the rest of the team all the
way to the Final. Diego Maradona finally changed the attitude of the team.
He's got Messi and Carlos Tevez playing together and when those two finish,
the ball usually ends up in the back of the net. I was hoping for a
Brazil/Argentina Final because it would've been the best two teams in the
tournament, but alas, a European squad always has to influence the outcome
of the World Cup.
It's been one of the most memorable World Cup, with all the complaints about
the referees, but the upsets showcase just how one country really isn't
above another quality squad. Expect Maradona to have his team ready against
Germany. It's been a great month of soccer and the games will only get
better as we reach the close of the 2010 FIFA World Cup
