New Arena Brings Optimism For Seattle
The City of Seattle professional basketball fans received a bright ray of hope on Wednesday. The announced agreement will only move forward if a NBA franchise agrees to relocate to the city. The Supersonics called Seattle home from 1967 till 2008. Owner Clay Bennett moved the team to Oklahoma City and the team has found tremendous success since the move. A private investment group led by Chris Hansen, will contribute $300 million of the almost $500 million. There's also a possibility of getting an NHL franchise, along with the NBA team. Public funds would be capped at $150 million of just a NBA franchise is involved. The amount would increase to $200 million if a NHL franchise is involved too. The agreement will go before the Seattle City Council and King County Council for review. Same Refrain For James As Heat Lose
The chatter will start again. LeBron James shot 3-of-7 from the field and 4-of-8 from the free throw line for 10 points in the fourth quarter. The Miami Heat came up short, 78-75 against the Indiana Pacers. Indiana got its much deserved split in Miami and will look to get an edge at home. James finished with 28 points and nine rebounds. Teammate Dwayne Wade finished the game with 24 points. David West recorded a double-double, with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Indiana exploited the loss of Chris Bosh, by out-rebounding Miami, 50-40. Heat To Play Without Bosh Against Pacers
The Miami Heat will have to win games without an important piece in the lineup. Chris Bosh is out indefinitely with a strained abdominal. Bosh suffered the injury in the game one win over the Pacers. There's no timetable for Bosh's return. The Heat will be more vulnerable inside, against Roy Hibbert and David West. Ronny Turiaf will get the first shot at replacing Bosh. The team could also increase the minutes LeBron James gets at power forward. James scored 16 points at power forward, against West and held the former All Star to only two points. The Pacers still understand that to win games, they will have to stop Dwyane Wade and James. Bosh provided a solid inside scoring option.
